On October 28 and 29, 2025, Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde will host an Open Dialogue on Financial Education for 12th-grade students on Sal Island. The initiative seeks to provide young people with crucial skills in financial literacy, fostering responsible management of their personal finances.

 

We hereby inform our shareholders that, in accordance with the law and the resolutions of the Ordinary General Meeting of Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde held on June 25 of this year, the application of net income for the 2024 financial year, totaling CVE 1,813,876,054$00, has been approved.

 

We also inform you that Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde will proceed with the payment of dividends for the 2024 financial year on July 18 this year, at a rate of CVE 652$00 per share.

We would also like to inform you that Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde is the financial intermediary responsible for processing the payment.

Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde was awarded the 2025 Quality Choice Award by the European Society for Quality Research, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, for its outstanding performance in the area of quality management.

The Quality Choice Award recognizes those who exemplify strong ethical values and innovative practices, demonstrating exceptional success in quality management and a commitment to maximize the potential of their services through quality-oriented practices.

The award ceremony was held on May 29, 2025, in Stockholm, Sweden, as part of the ESQR's annual Quality Choice 2025 convention. The event brought together distinguished business leaders, academic experts, quality professionals, government officials, and diplomats from across Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Australia, culminating in the presentation of awards to the winners.

The awarding of this prize to Caixa acknowledges the significant impact of its quality management initiatives and policies, reflecting the dedication of its leadership, employees, and entire organizational structure to delivering high-quality global financial services. This recognition also serves as a motivation to continue pursuing continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

During the formal session of the convention, Dr. António Moreira, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Caixa, had the opportunity to address the audience. In his speech, he shared Caixa’s journey as a leading national banking institution and highlighted its achievements in the area of quality, where it holds two international certifications.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and in alignment with the STEAM Project, Caixa proudly supported the “General Knowledge Olympics – Academic Year 2024/2025,” an initiative organized by the Ministry of Education Delegation in São Lourenço dos Órgãos, Santiago Island.

The awards ceremony took place on June 14th, during the final event of the 7th edition of the “BADJA KU NOS VOS” Gala. In addition to the Olympics awards ceremony, the Gala featured several cultural and educational activities, including Voice, Music and Reading competitions, celebrating the talent, creativity, and dedication of the municipality’s youth.

This support reflects Caixa’s ongoing commitment to the sustainable development, recognizing education as a fundamental pillar for building a more inclusive and empowered society.

On June 12, in celebration of Children’s Month, Caixa organized a special initiative titled “A Day with Children”, dedicated this year to 3rd and 4th grade students from Ponta D’Água School in Praia.

The day was filled with excitement, learning, and delightful surprises. It began with a guided tour of Caixa’s Head Office, where the students got a firsthand look at the inner workings of the bank. They gained a deeper understanding of how the institution supports everyday life and contributes to national development.

This was followed by a Financial Education session held at the Caixa auditorium, with the aim of raising early awareness about the importance of responsible money management and the habit of saving. The session was led by Administrator Dr. Júlia Ferreira, who engaged the children in a lively and interactive manner, using questions, practical tips, and relatable examples tailored to their everyday experiences.

During the event, the students showcased a play inspired by the book “A Poupança do Zito” and delivered an energetic Batuku performance, both proudly led by the children themselves.

The highlight of the day was a surprise appearance by artist Hélio Batalha, a proud native of the Ponta D’Água community. He delivered an energetic performance and shared an inspiring personal story, adding a special and unforgettable touch to the event.

To further strengthen the educational impact of the initiative, each child received a copy of the book “A Poupança do Zito”, a Caixa publication that presents key concepts of saving and financial literacy in a fun and easy-to-understand way. 

This initiative reflects Caixa's continued dedication to fostering financial literacy among children and youth, helping shape informed, conscious individuals who are equipped to make responsible financial decisions throughout their lives.

Em cumprimento ao disposto pelo Artigo 12, do Capítulo II do Aviso n.º 2/2023, de 28 de dezembro, sobre os Bancos Domésticos de Importância Sistémica (Domestic Systemically Important Banks, sigla D-SIBs), o Banco de Cabo Verde procedeu à classificação em 2025 das instituições de crédito classificadas como D-SIBs, com base nos dados reportados a 31 de dezembro de 2024.

A metodologia definida no Aviso determina que a classificação assenta numa pontuação média de quatro indicadores com pesos distintos, designadamente, a dimensão com 35%, a interconectividade com 20%, a substituibilidade com 35% e o sentimento doméstico com 10%.

De acordo com o Aviso, a regra de classificação estabelece que as instituições cujas pontuações (scores) excedam os 200 pontos são consideradas bancos domésticos de elevada importância sistémica, as que estiverem entre 150 e 200 pontos são designadas bancos domésticos de moderada importância sistémica e as que estiverem entre 95 e 150 pontos são designadas bancos domésticos de ligeira importância sistémica e as que estiverem abaixo dos 95 pontos são consideradassem importância sistémica.

Assim, de acordo com a pontuação, a Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde (CECV) e o Banco Comercial do Atlântico (BCA) são classificados como bancos de elevada importância doméstica, e o Banco Cabo-verdiano de Negócios (BCN) e o Banco Interatlântico (BI) como bancos de ligeira importância doméstica.

O Banco BAI Cabo Verde (BAI CV) figura pela primeira vez, após a classificação inaugural em 2024, com um score de 98 pontos. A instituição será confirmada como sendo banco doméstico de ligeira importância sistémica (reclassificação para escalação superior), se por dois anos consecutivos mantiver uma pontuação média entre 95 e 150 pontos.

Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde participated in the 2nd Youth Investment and Financing Summit, held from January 30th to February 1st in Praia, under the theme "Training, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation – Cape Verde in Action."

The institution set up a stand and had a commercial team on-site, providing information on available financing options for micro and small businesses initiated by young people and women, along with other details on various funding opportunities.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Finance and Business Development, Casa do Empreendedor, Pró Empresa, and other partner institutions, with the goal of offering a platform for young people to share their ideas and projects. 

The summit brought together young leaders, entrepreneurs, business professionals, NGO representatives, members of associations and business groups, youth advocates, university students, and professionals from diverse sectors.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility and in celebration of World Savings Day on October 31, Caixa is launching the 'October Savings Month' campaign. This initiative seeks to foster discussions and raise awareness about the importance of saving and financial education, while also showcasing the range of savings solutions Caixa provides to its customers.

The campaign aligns with the strategic objective of promoting Financial Education and Inclusion and is a key initiative within Caixa's Social Responsibility Programme Action Plan.

One of the key activities in this year's campaign will be Open Talks held on Foco Island, targeting 11th and 12th-grade secondary school students. These sessions aim to raise awareness about the importance of saving and will also promote the Student Package, a commercial solution designed specifically for young students.
