A Cape Verdean Emigrant is an individual born in Cabo Verde who might, or not, be a holder of a Cape Verdean nationality, provided that he or she proves to have permanent residence abroad.
Conditions
  • Children Emigrant Account is exclusively owned by the minor, which may have the Legal Representation (LR) of the Mother or the Father;
  • Accounts can be created under the following conditions:
    • Children Emigrant Checking Account: Passbook Checking Account;
    • Children Emigrant Savings Account: Term Deposit Account.
  • The term of the contract is two years, renewable for an equal period;
  • Access to a debit card is not possible;
  • The account can only be consulted by Legal Representatives, through Caixanet and Caixa Mobile;
  • Debit transactions are permitted only at Caixa branches;
  • All amounts credited to the checking account, equal or above 1,000 $ (one thousand escudos) are automatically transferred to the Term Deposit account.

  • Children Emigrant Checking Account: 1,000$00 (one thousand escudos);
  • Children Emigrant Savings Account: 10,000$00 (ten thousand escudos), with subsequent reinforcements of 1,000$00 (one thousand escudos) or more.

  • The Youth Emigrant Savings Account is held exclusively by the Youth Emigrant, and may be co-owned by their spouse or equivalent.
  • Accounts may be created under the following conditions:
    • Youth Emigrant Checking Account: Passbook Checking Account;
    • Youth Emigrant Savings Account: Term Deposit Account.
  • The term of the contract is two years, automatically renewable for an equal period;
  • Transition to a new account, provided that the holder is between 18 and 30 years old, and can prove to be an Emigrant;
  • All amounts credited to the Term Deposit Account, equal to or exceeding 1,000 $ (one thousand Escudos), are automatically transferred to the Term Deposit account;

  • The balance of the Emigrant Savings Account may only be transferred to an account in Cape Verde Escudos, and must be used for the purposes declared in the creation of the account.
