At my bank, I have the option to have a foreign currency account. This allows me to preserve my Euros and US dollars, and cash them whenever I need, for travel or business.

It is very advantageous to have a foreign currency account, because I can transfer money directly to an account abroad and, better yet, my deposited amounts do not change with the exchange rate fluctuations.

  • Transfers abroad, directly from the currency account;
  • Obtain the amount deposited in CVE, through the conversion of the Foreign Currency to the National Currency;

  • The Foreign Currency Current Account is aimed at Individual and Corporate clients, who hold a Caixa account;
  • Foreign exchange accounts can be in Euro (EUR) and US Dollar (USD);
  • The operations of the current account in Foreign Currency can be executed at the branches and can operate in debit and credit;
  • These accounts may be fed by the following funds:
  • The withdrawal can be made in foreign currency (at no additional cost), or in Cabo Verdean Escudos (CVE), as long as the client requests a transfer from the Foreign Currency to the National Currency.
