    • Passbook - direct withdrawals/transactions at the branch;
    • Digital Channels:
      • Debit card (ATM and Prepaid Visa Plus);
      • Credit Card (Visa Classic and Visa Gold);
      • Caixanet;
      • Caixa Mobile.

Foreign Currency Checking Account

At my bank, I have the option to have a foreign currency account. This account allows me to reserve my euros and US dollars and redeem them whenever I want, to travel or to take care of my business.

It's very beneficial to have a foreign currency account, because, with it, I can transfer money directly to and from an account abroad and, besides, my deposited amounts don't change with the exchange fluctuations.
Available Operations
  • Possibility to reserve the Foreign Currency;
  • Access to the desired currency, at any time;
  • Transfers abroad, directly from the currency account;
  • Constitution of a Term Deposit account in Foreign Currency;
  • Obtaining the amount deposited in CVE, by transferring the Foreign Currency to the National Currency.
Opening and Operating Conditions
  • The Foreign Currency Checking Account is for the Emigrant Individual Client, holder of an account at the Caixa;
  • The foreign Currency Account can be in: Euro (EUR) and US Dollar (USD);
  • Operating the Foreign Currency Checking Account can be done at the Branches and can operate in debit and credit;
  • These accounts can be financed with the following funds:
    • Transfers from abroad;
    • Other means of foreign payments (checks, etc.);
    • Foreign currency.
  • The withdrawal can be made in foreign currency (without additional costs), or in Cape Verde Escudos (CVE), once the client requests a transfer from the Foreign Currency to the National Currency, paying the costs of this operation.
