What is a Caixa Debit Card?
A Caixa Debit Card is an electronic payment method that allows you to make purchases and withdraw cash directly from your Current Account. 

Acting as a "plastic payment instrument," it deducts the transaction amounts directly from your available balance.

Unlike a credit card, where you receive a credit from the bank and pay it back later, a debit card instantly deducts the transaction amount from your current account.
 
This prevents debt accumulation and allows for more effective spending control.
How does a debit card work?
When a Caixa customer makes a purchase with their debit card, the amount is automatically deducted from the available balance on their current account. If there are insufficient funds to cover the transaction, the purchase will be declined.

Besides shopping, debit cards can be used for ATM withdrawals and various banking transactions like money transfers and bill payments.
