ISO 9001 is an international quality management reference, applicable to all organizations, regardless of size or sector of activity.

The quality management systems defined in this standard are based on seven fundamental principles for improving the business. They are: customer focus, leadership, people commitment, approach to processes, improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management.

The benefits of implementing the quality management system in an organization are numerous. It is certainly a notorious differential that the organization gains by winning the ISO 9001 certificate. It is a national and international recognition for the quality of the work done by an organization.

With the implementation and certification, the company is able to produce more quickly with more intelligent processes, systematically plan and control work routines. It can also reduce costs with greater productivity, improved communication, increase market opportunities, improve the company's image, reduce risks and develop suppliers.

ISO 9001 is the basis for all other approaches of excellence existing in the market and for this reason organizations (in the banking sector) begin their journey towards quality, always aiming for this certification.

In 2012, Caixa became the 1st Bank in Cape Verde with international certification of the Information Security Management System and the Quality Management System, in accordance with the international standards ISO 27001: 2013 and ISO 9001: 2015, respectively .

This great achievement is certainly the result of the trust that customers, suppliers, partners, employees and other stakeholders place in Caixa.

It is a matter of special satisfaction to renew the quality certification at the moment when Caixa celebrates another anniversary.
