Caixa Backs 2nd Edition of the EBI Schools Reading Competition

The final event took place on April 13th at Achada Mato, where Caixa was in attendance to award prizes to the top performers from grades 1 to 8 at EBI. The awarded prizes comprised Caixa Savings Accounts, starting with balances of 5,000 ECV, 10,000 ECV, and 15,000 ECV, symbolizing accounts that will mature alongside the children. Furthermore, Caixa generously provided 20 copies of the book "A Poupança do Zito" to each participating school, enhancing their library collections.
The project's recipients were students hailing from the peripheral communities of Lém Cachorro, Paiol, Lém Ferreira, Castelão, Achada Mata, and Achada Limpo, from Praia.
During the ceremony, Mrs. Célia Santos, the administrator of Caixa, emphasized the significance of reading as a pursuit fostering comprehension, expression, innovation, and essential values like Respect, Discipline, and Persistence for achieving academic success.
Caixa reiterates its dedication to education and community advancement by backing projects that foster reading and learning among students. Additionally, it strives to promote equal opportunities for children and young individuals across diverse communities.
